What is the key difference between java and c++? not in technical terms.

I don't know if there's just one key difference.

Perhaps that one is compiled to native platform-specific object code while the other is compiled to platform-agnostic byte code? Wait, that's using technical terms though

The spelling of their names? Sorry if that seems sarcastic but I really don't how you can avoid using technical terms to describe the differences between these two languages.

I think I would say that C++ is a "lower" level language than Java. That means it is harder to use but some things it does my be faster or more efficient. But I should say that most of that is gone in modern Java.
