I'm currently reading Head First Java and want to use the topics shown in the book while I read it to master them. What are some good projects that can be used to practice all the skills taught in the Head First Java book while I read it?

Hi.
There are couple of really cool and learning projects in HFJ itself.
For example, refer to the section "Building the really cool universal service browser" of chapter 18. There are 3 really cool applications that you develop.
Solve all the riddles, puzzles, programming excercises of each chapter. Don't skip any of them. I think, those are really good.
If you feel like you really need more while learning, there are a lot of projects in Java Project Hosting on Google Code.
Happy learning.

Careful about Google Code. The service is soon to be withdrawn.

Sorry, I didn't know it.

There are lots of Java projects hosted on GitHub.
As of this time, there are 7,512 Java repositories.
You may search for and choose one of the suitable projects here.
