Error encountered while stopping weblogic server5.1 on AIX 4.3

Hello,
Encountered the following error while stopping the bea weblogic server 5.1 on AIX 4.3.... In need of some direction...

Submitting shutdown command to WebLogic Server on port 80.
Failed to connect to t3://10.72.111.15:80 due to: [weblogic.rmi.UnexpectedException: Marshalling:
- with nested exception:
[weblogic.rjvm.PeerGoneException:
- with nested exception:
[weblogic.utils.AssertionError: ***** ASSERTION FAILED *****[ Exception creating response stream ] - with nested exception:

That looks a lot like BEA's bug report "CR054009", the fix for which is suppsed to appear in Service Pack 11, probably within a few weeks.

Thanks a lot for ur reply. Can you please tell me how to view the BEA's bug report "CR054009". Went to BeaWebLogic site, but not able to view the bug. can u mail me full info. about the bug to my mail id ganesh.a@db.com

Hi, it may be late to answer but, may be this answer could help other peoples.
It seems like you started your weblogic instance with one service pack and then you are trying to stop it with another one. Please try to stop it just with this command : java weblogic.Admin t3://my_server_name:my_port SHUTDOWN system my_password.
