Hello,

I am taking a class that uses the Karel J Robot book to teach Java. My school has instructions for using TextPad as an editor to compile and run the code. I am trying to get Karel to work with NetBeans and Notepad++, but I'm not sure where to go to set up the configuration for either one as I did for TextPad. Bear in mind that I'm a newbie, so I need either clear instructions on how to do this, or I need to have it "dumbed" down a bit. (It wouldn't help if I got a response such as "it's simple...all you do is add the script lengthwise, tweak the macro, and run setup functionlatity...." etc.) If anyone has a setup configuration, or can explain in simple terms how this can be done, I'd appreciate it greatly! Thank you.

Welcome to the Ranch

You just have to add the script lengthwise, tweak the macro, and run the setup functionality.

Please have a look at our FAQ. Remember you need to install Java® first, and you will have no end of difficulties if you don't edit your System PATH. If you have any specific problems after reading the FAQ don't hesitate to ask.
