Hi All;

I am in the middle of migrating some legacy code from JBOSS 5.1 to JBOSS EAP 6.2 with JDK 1.7 and getting random/intermittent 404. Basic Dynamic Web App using servlets and .ear with .war file.

Is there any reason to have the app running correctly and then get a 404 error?

For example, I will hit "F5" on the index page and 80% of the time the page renders correctly and then I get a 404 error. When I login to the app I can navigate for a moment and then gets a 404 on the servlet while some times it works.

Curious what might cause this type of behavior. Any ideas?

I am using a web.xml file to map the servlets. Is this the wrong way to do this in JBOSS 6.2 EAP with JDK 7? I have this located WEB-INF folder. The servlets are located in the src.

The frustrating part is that everything seems to be working correctly in my local dev environment in Eclipse, but when I move to online dev server on the network I am seeing this strange 404 errors.

Ideas?

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
