I'm creating a small program that will be able to chart data that will be transmitted from a sensor device connected to the USB port. I would like to create a running chart that will display the data sequentially with respect to time. I've only found a few topics on the subject and so I'm hoping to find some help here. This link is to my post in another section of the Java Forum, but I don't think too many ppl visit that section so I will post it in this more heavily trafficked forum.

I am not sure how to implement the runLater function and display the data. What should I hope to accomplish using the ranLater function? I understand that I need to an XYChart.Series to keep a continuously modifying chart, but other than that I'm not sure how to implement it. Please, any help is great, or just to bounce some ideas back and forth too!

Derek please don't post in multiple forums.
If you think your question is in the wrong forum or possibly could be in 2 forums then contact the forum mod and one of us will move it or create a link for you. As it is it looks like your question is tightly bound to JavaFX so you are unlikely to get much help in the beginners forum and so I will lock this thread and leave the original one open. If you have a question that is about the Java language as opposed to JavaFX please feel free to post a question here.
