Question 20, Test 1 of Enthuware exams states:

Given:

which of the following expressions are valid?

a. s = b * b;
b. i = b << b;
c. s <<= b;
d. c = c + b;
e. s += i;

Page 225 of the K & B study guide states in the exam watch section

"Don't pend time preparing for topics that are no longer on the exam! The following topics have not bee on the exam since Java 1.4:

bit-shifting operators
bitwise operators
two's complement
divide-by-zero stuff

It's not that these aren't important topics..."

My questions is, should I be concerned that items like answer a and c (which I was unfamiliar with) will show up on the exam?

Not at all! Just ignore them. Bit-shifting operators are definitely not on the exam! Enthuware should update their question bank accordingly to avoid confusion about the exam topics. (And maybe even users might suffer a panic attack because they encounter something they are not familiar with )

Let's have a moment of silence in memory of those very funny bit-shifting operators
