Hi,

I just now tried to install the Java JDK 8u45 on my Mac with Yosemite (10.10) installed, and the install failed without any details as to why. I've tried from multiple download sites and it always fails. Has anyone else had the same problem and were you able to get around it?

Thanks,
Rob Tanner

Welcome to the Ranch

You may have a long wait for a reply from OP. I searched and found this and this. You will want the most recent version of Java® which is 8u45.

Beware:- There is a stage in installation where it “invites” you to install the ASK toolbar. You will probably want to omit that step. A lot of people have got annoyed about ASK.

I did not have any problems with it. Must be something different.

Make sure you download from official Oracle's website (keep in mind there is a demo's and actual full version, download latter which says "Mac OS X x64").
And when you say it failed, who and in which forms it indicates for you that it failed? You might missing some important details, give a try again, and tell us exactly what you see.

Which year is your Mac released?
