Hi Matt, I am thinking of taking the Java 8 OCP exam, does the course cover all lambda and streams exam objectives (half of Section 3, Section 4, and Section 5 in the exam objectives)?

Thank you.

Hi Mark

I wouldn't want to guarantee that we cover everything you need for the exam.

We focus our courses on what people are practically using in real world applications, we find that many Java training courses focus on the full syllabus which means you spend time learning parts of the syntax which are not used too often.

We focus instead on the 80% which you need to be productive in the workplace. If you're starting to learn Lambdas for the first time then what we cover does just that - it'll give you a great understanding of what they are and how to use them, but until they are being widely used in projects, it's difficult to know what the pain points are going to be.

If you want to do the exam, you'll probably need to do some further study after the course to cover the more intricate parts of the syllabus.

Hope that helps and thanks for the interest in the course!
