Hi All,
I am working in Java field. Recently, my team was discussing something about database stanza but I didn't understand that term. Heard first time.

Can anybody please explain or provide a pointer for its meaning and usage?

Thanks in advance.

Do you think I didn't search before posting? Searching on google takes less time then posting here. If somebody is posting here means he already has searched it
So please share some useful link because still I didn't get any fruitful result in google.

We don't know what you've done before posting unless you say so.

Kishor was letting you know that he'd found plenty of good stuff with a search engine, and assumed that you hadn't looked at them. From what you say in your question, it's a fair assumption to make.

Thanks Tim for commenting. The advice given by Kishore was so basic that anybody would ofcourse do before posting. It was also a fair assumption... right

I never encountered the term "database stanza" before today either. And after a bit of googling, I can't find any description of what a "database stanza" is either. And, neither of the links posted by Kishore Joshi tells you what a database stanza is, they just talk about database stanzas as if everybody knew what they were. Neither does Wikipedia say anything about database stanzas, not that I can find anyway.

So I'd say Vicky is 100% correct and all those people maligning her search skills are off-base.

From a DBA's perspective, a database stanza refers to the configuration of the database.  Most if not all of the information contained in the db cfg is organised by subject/purpose/function and there are spaces to separate this information from the next grouping.

Sometimes referred to as "sections",  stanzas is a more enlightened way to describe the manner in which the configuration file is laid out, or composed.

The term "stanza" could also be applied readily to XML/JSON/etc...  So the use is not only confined to databases  (RDBMS).

Cheers

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
