Hi guys , i am learning hibernate and this was my very first program and i was getting org.hibernate.MappingException:

I have added code tags for you. Doesn't it look better to read?

For your problem, it looks like your Customer.hbm.xml has problems.

The email field is defined as a long and the Customer class a String. Similarly the cname didn't define a type in the xml.

Fixing these should do it.
 
It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
