Austin Texas client is looking for a direct hire Senior Java Developer.

5+ years of Java experience
7+ years of development for Web-based applications, or SOA based environments
Object oriented design and development
Database development and design including creation of database objects (tables, views, procedures, etc)
Experienced architecture design with understanding and usage of
Inversion of Control
Dependency Injection
Scalable Deployments
Test Driven Design
Common Design Patterns
RESTful interfaces
Troubleshooting and debugging skills
Familiarity with
Spring Framework
Apache Maven
JPA Frameworks such as Hibernate
Servlet containers, such as Tomcat and Jetty
Search engines, such as Solr and Elasticsearch
Unit testing frameworks
Excellent written and oral communication skills, fluent in English
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work in both local and geographically dispersed team environments
Ability to work independently and proactively

Education/Training
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar (or sufficient experience in the field)
Design, develop, and maintain efficient and high quality code from high-level design and business requirements through build, test, and integration phases.

Overall Responsibility and Outcomes (those things that the position is expected to accomplish)
1. Translate individual feature requirements into code.
2. Debug code to locate reported bugs and issues.
3. Create unit tests for developed code.
4. Refactor existing code to enhance readability, performance and general structure.
5. Create prototypes of new and enhanced features to demonstrate capabilities and implementation options.
6. Provide tier 3 support for customer issues raised that need to be debugged at a code level.
7. Provide assistance to testing team, where necessary, to aid in testing and test case creation.
8. Follow the agile methodology and development standards adopted by BackOffice Associates.
9. Provide assistance to the documentation team, where necessary, to aid product documentation
10. Learn and understand the BackOffice methodologies
11. Provide assistance to the training team, where necessary, to aid in the creation and review of training material
12. Provide guidance to coworkers in all aspects of areas of development
13. Domestic/International Travel: possible quarterly or less frequent travel required.

Ability to design and implement planned changes into an overall feature with minimal review and oversight
Ability to create feature designs and proposals and be able to present and defend decisions made in proposals to team
Ability to guide and mentor developers
