I'm working as a Java developer and I have 6+ years experience working in Java development. My current project involves making enhancements to some call center software. I already earned the Oracle Certified Professional, Java 6 Programmer certification. I have to come up with some performance objectives or work-related goals. What are some good examples of performance objectives or work-related goals?
Is this for a yearly performance review? It's better you talk to to your boss. Differrent companies have differrent ways to set goals. Some companies consider your projects as your goals. SOme companies consider goals that you achieve while working on your projects as a goal. Your boss should know. Also, they might have some standards around how they will measure your achievement on the goals.
You might also like to think about where you want to be in career terms in a year's time, and what steps you would like to take in order to get there. If you want to work in a different role or a different part of the organisation, how do you get there e.g. by asking to join a different project or take on different work, request training etc?
