hello
as we know, the weblogic combine webserver and j2eeserver,but to the distributed environment such as follow scenario:
one webserver+two appserver,
i need three weblogic (one for each server),but in the webserver, i only need webserver function,in the appserver,i only need j2eeserver fuction.
if i use the tomcat and jboss,i can install tomcat in webserver, jboss in appserver.and if the webserver and appserver are hosted in the same computer,i can bind the tomcat and jboss together,it is more flexlble then weblogic.
i wonder if the weblogic can be seperated to webserver and j2ee server?
thanks

Hi,
BEA's WebLogic doesn't use micro-kernal architecture like what HP AS 8.0 uses. So, attaching/detaching the J2EE services from the WLS is currently not possible. I am sure that, this is going remain the same for WLS 7.0. Lets see what WLS 8.0 has to offer.
Nevertheless, try to see what HP AS 8.0 can do for you. Its free !!! :-)
