Interesting question. So far android java and java SE are pretty much evolving in parallel. Not much difference in rules, syntax and style. But would Google try to keep android java evolving along the lines of Java SE. Does not look like hapenning at the moment.

That's a very good question Frederic. Google's Java development continues in parallel. I can't see any reason why this couldn't be added in the future. As time goes by, Java developers will become rely on lambdas more and more. We would be surprised if Google didn't add all of the latest features at some point. We certainly can't think of anything in the platform that would prevent it, but then we're not language architects :-)
