So I have code on my jsp that calls a method GetComboBox(object a, string b, string c) <-- passes to java class just fine
and the getcombobox method is in a java class.
and I want the returned string from the method, while the page is running.

Right now I get returned an empty string.

I am used to using asp.net where this is possible pretty easily.

I understand that it is not normal practice, and that I am doing a few things "wrong" no MVC pattern and I am actually passing a resultset as the object a but that's another can of worms I am very much aware of and will create an object to hold the data later. I am more than glad to read on doing it right, but I also want this to work 'for now' if it can.
