I'm Computer Science Fresher.

I have following doubts.

1) I have some core Java knowledge. So, is it possible to prepare for certifications like for OCJP and OCWCD independently, I mean without going to any training institute ?
2) Also, same way, is it possible to learn Java frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, JSF, etc.) independently ?

If yes, please suggest books and other resources for the preparation of above certifications and frameworks.

Please reply fast.

Dev,
Yes, it is possible to learn from books.

The OCP cert is a pre-req for the OCWCD one so start there. Note that there are choices for how you get OCP certified:
OCJP for Java 6 - one exam but older version
OCA 7 + OCP 7 - two exams
OCA 8 + OCP 8 - two exams (one isn't out yet).

The OCAJP FAQ and OCPJP FAQ list books.

For the web, Core JSF and Spring in Action are great books.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
