Hi Simon,

Welcome to ranch and thank you for this course!

I would like to hear this answer from you as an experienced, well known Java guy.

Why you made the course for OCA Java SE 7 Programmer Exam instead of OCA Java SE 8 Programmer Exam ?
Does it still worth to be certified on OCA Java SE 7 even though OCA Java SE 8 is out there and Java 9 is coming ? If yes, then why?

Another question, what is special about this course ?

Thank you so much

Have a good time:D

Well, at the time I started creating this, the exam was Java 7. I'm working on a revision for Java 8 right now. These things take a _looooong_ time to do well! Hopefully, just a few months though to get this out.

I can't promise, but I have asked my publisher and at the moment, they seem amenable to splitting out certain key units that address the new material for Java 8 and making a special upgrade "only for existing customers" type of offer. I hope that'll happen, but as I say, it's not ultimately my decision.

As to Java 9, that's a ways away yet, and they don't even start to define the objectives, never mind start the long, arduous, process of creating the exam until after the product is released. So, yes, I expect to be busy in the studio creating more new material in a couple of years or so when that happens

Cheers,
Simon
