Just curious, why was the post removed from the individual who was promoting his Java tutorials?

First, the post may not have been permanently removed. We sometimes review posts, and during the review process, the post may not be visible. Users with a post in review should get a PM stating that it is in review (and why).

But to answer your question for the general case (as I can't answer for this specific case), there may be a lot of factors that are reviewed. The post itself, the history of posts for the user, and even how the post was flagged. In the last case, any other user of the ranch can flag a post with the report button, and if the report comes from a trusted user (who tend to report objectively / correctly), it will carry more weight.

Thanks, if he has been spamming that I understand but I came back to check out his videos and couldn't find them. Seems like a lot to go through to quarantine someone trying to help others in a sub forum where others are actively looking for help...
