Hi Jeanne/Scott,

Instead of only considering the errata from readers, why don't you even go through the book once and point out for any possible errors. The book is released does not mean you should not correct but only readers should point the errors. We should also see list of errors pointed by authors in the errata that you are publishing. Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks with Regards,
Shiva

I only see one typo error pointed out by Scott :page 73 Chapter 2 “int and Integer” is listed twice in the bulleted list.

It's a good idea. The main reason is that we are busy with book 2 (OCP). We are doing much more proofreading on it than on book 1. That said, even if we were to do so, we'd find less errors than other people. It's harder to find errors in your own writing. Also, some of the things in the errata are things that could be clearer. So they weren't wrong per se, but I agree they should have been worded differently. And I think readers have found most of them by now! They will all be getting named thank you's in the acknowledgements section of our OCP book.

I did do that for one of the online mock exams. and reported two errors to the errata page for that section. (I still have to report the online errors to the publisher.) And I intend to for the others. The online materials can be corrected after the fact so there's more value in spending the time there.

Yes. Scott found that after the book was in the printing process, but it was too late to get it fixed.

It's due to print in December. Which means we are just about finishing up the drafts now. Then comes lots of review. (a good number of people review a manuscript on it's journey to becoming a book). Then printing!
