I wish to know how to obfuscate the java class files before uploading them to a tomcat 7 server? I have searched for about 4 weeks and have found that it is possible but have not found how to do it.

I been reading that proguard or yguard can do it, but in reading there documentation they only work for jar files. and my servlets are .class files.

Can anyone advise?

If your obfuscators can only work with jars, then put your servlet classes into a jar and obfuscate them. Tomcat can handle jars perfectly well as a container for servlet classess, just make sure you put the jar into WEB-INF/lib.

Paul, thanks for the reply. Actually I completely forgot about that. Thanks. I will give that a try.

I keep getting a post that says to try Aspose, is that an auto response?

I called Aspose sales desk, they no longer have Aspose obfuscator as an download option.

No, it's advertising.

Yeah, but how did the squirrel get in there? Was it because of the tiny ad?
