Your screenshot shows an exception stack trace that you didn't tell us about. Have you read the API for the method called on line 15? What are the three conditions that must be met?

setOpacity value ranges from 0 to 1f so i put 0.4f but it doesn't work even if i put 0f it also not working? please anyone help me with this?

You haven't answered the question I asked. What are the three conditions that must be met for setOpacity(...) to succeed?
