I am following the OCA Oracle Certified Associate Java SE 8 programmer I by Jeanne Boyarsky and Scott Selikoff. I also have Enthuware Test Studio. I also have a good knowledge of the book, but I didn't get good score on the Enthuware practice test. I often see that the question in the practice test are outside of the materials covered in the book. Is there anyboy out there who can guide me the right way. is there somebody who passed the certification exam without Enthuware practice test. I find this practice test way harder the practice examples in the book.

What are your scores so far? And how did you conclude you have a good knowledge of the book? And do you write code snippets during your preparation? If yes, do you use an IDE or your favourite text editor?

Of course, I passed all my certification exams (including the OCA7 exam) without the Enthuware mock exams. And I'm definitely not the only one. The Enthuware mock exams are indeed considered to be harder than the actual exam. But that's no problem at all, because when you have taken (and passed) the Enthuware mock exams, you will be throughly prepared for the actual exam. If the Enthuware mock exams would be easier than the actual exam, it would be a bad thing because you would think you are ready but you were actually not.

My Score on the Enthuware Test are 50-60 %, and not more than that . I write code here and there but use Eclipse.

Write much more code! You should write boatloads of code snippets. And don't use an IDE anymore. Only use your favourite text editor and javac/java. The reason is very simple: the IDE will spot compiler errors for you, but on the mock exams (and the actual exam) you don't have a compiler at your disposal and you have to spot these errors by yourself. In this topic you'll find plenty of other opinions and reason to use a text editor instead of an IDE.
