Hello, wellcome to coderanch.

Is java FX only for desktop applications? or is it for web applications?

Thank you.

I'll wait for HS to make a definitive pronouncement, but I think I have seen it on both. It would be interesting to know whether the book describes both uses.

Hello Carlos and Campbell.

I will leave any and all such "definitive pronouncements" to Oracle.

As the JavaFX documentation points out, JavaFX enables you to create rich client applications.
