Howdy folks,

Welcome to the Bunkhouse Lounge! This is where we come to talk about our favourite books, discuss what we like, don’t like, don’t understand, anything at all. There’s enough room for everyone so drop in and make yourself comfortable.

Here in the Lounge you will have seen that we previously had a 'Book of the Month' feature, but in all honesty reading a book every month was just way too much like hard work. So now we have a Book of the Moment feature instead. Quite simply, when anyone is reading any particular book at any particular moment then you're invited to talk about it here.

To kick us off, in this particular moment I am reading Carol Dweck's "Mindset: The New Psychology of Success". I have read this one before a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, enough so that I'm reading it again.

Synopsis for Mindset wrote:Dweck explains why it’s not just our abilities and talent that bring us success—but whether we approach them with a fixed or growth mindset. She makes clear why praising intelligence and ability doesn’t foster self-esteem and lead to accomplishment, but may actually jeopardize success. With the right mindset, we can motivate our kids and help them to raise their grades, as well as reach our own goals—personal and professional. Dweck reveals what all great parents, teachers, CEOs, and athletes already know: how a simple idea about the brain can create a love of learning and a resilience that is the basis of great accomplishment in every area.

Just got my copy. Will start reading, looking to spend an hour a day until I finish it. I like to read these kinds of books slowly so it might take me a few days.
