So I appeared for the IZO-803 exam today and passed with 70%.
I think time management is most necessary for this exam.
Apart from that I came across so many questions with for loops and while loops and arrays I just had to do all of them on a scratchpad. used around 4 scratchpads. (I need to speed up on those)
Did the first 20 questions and then went to the last 20 questions. I think I did the mid-30 questions in the last 50 minutes where I really started to speed up and get tensed. Keeping calm and confident is another important aspect for this exam,
I have been using/working on Java for around 4 years now and only when I started with the exam preparations did I realize how dependent I was on the IDE.
My preparations were on and off for 2 months, reading through the chapters in Mala Gupta's book after work. I had actually booked my exam and then started preparing. I gave the enthuware exams in the last few days before the exam.
So I gave 6 enthuware tests including the last day tests.
Test 1:45%- I gave this before actually preparing for the exam
Then I gave these 5 tests in the last four days.
Last Day test Which I gave last night: 60% (which brought my confidence down by quite a few notches, but I could anyways not reschedule my exam now as I would lose the fees, so I just slept over it, in the morning went through the incorrect answers and then went for the exam)
I would say I spent around 60 hours in all on the exam preps.
A big thank you to --Mala Gupta for this amazing book, and Enthuware for the brilliant test series!!
And Thank you Code Rancher's for the posts on how you guys prepared for the exams and also for the answers to many questions which I found here.
Now to start preparing for the OCPJP. Any suggestions on books to go for??
