Showing error of having same method in a class and an interface in implementing class

Hi,
The below piece of code show error ---- The inherited method Class1.m() cannot hide the public abstract method in Inf1.What is the logic behind this?

public class Oops1 extends Class1 implements Inf1 {

}

class Class1{
void m(){
System.out.println("I am class1");
}
}

interface Inf1{
void m();
}

Hi,

All methods in interfaces are public by default.

Your method in the class is package since there is no modifier. So, it tries to hide the public method of the interface.

Just make the method in your class public and everything should work fine.

e.g. public void m()
