I have been given the go ahead to move an old Jetty with Spring application over to Java EE. It was all going well until I begin plugging in the new login page. When hooked up to LDAP with a j_security_check style form all continues to be good.

But the login form needs to do more than that such as have a login domain name selection. I therefore begin making a JSF 2.2 page with a @RequestScoped @Named backing bean. Doing this has made the local dev deployment time ramp up to 5 minutes from 30 seconds. Has anyone else had a problem like this?

The old application still has many XML Spring Beans. The new application is using omnifaces too.

When it is hanging for the 5 minutes the Payara output sticks here:

With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
