Hi Mala,
congratulations and thank you for the new book!!!

Here in Brazil, many friends are asking if it's still a good idea to obtain OCPJP 7 certification?

With Java 8 in 60th update, Can you please explain for us??

Thank you and JavaRanch team.

Sure! Why would it not be a good idea? Many companies will be using Java 7 for many years. And for what it's worth, you could even take OCPJP5 or OCPJP6 exam So you can become an Oracle Certified Professional, Java Programmer with only taking (and passing) one exam (instead of two).

Currently no study guides for OCPJP8 are available. So OCPJP7 is the only choice if you want to take on a OCPJP certification on the short term and use a study guide to prepare yourself. And just as a reminder: it's currently not allowed to combine different version certifications.
