Hi Team,

Currently I am working on providing Support on Testing Enviornment which is kind of a distributed platform, where I use some Linux Commands, Sql Queries and working on Incidents co-ordinating. Currently I met my collegue who is a DBA in my Project and is member of our Project. Since he has got a good package i am thinking to do DBA and he has recommended me one of the Professors name who is very renowned .

Needed assistance from the expertise over here, how shall i proceed since my current Profile is not into DBA and currently working on Executing Linux Commands, SQL Queries to monitor the Testing Enviornment. Shall i proceed with doing the DBA Course? If not what shall be the other alternatives. The Course fee is 20,000 INR hence dont want to risk it blindly. Please advise

Yes, a DBA job is a good step up for someone who is essentially playing a Tier 2 technical support role. You might want to find out what the DBA courses cover. Typically, DBAs tend to be certified in certain database technologies, and certification (alteast in the US) runs much more than 20,000 INR. If the course allows you to get your foot in as a junior DBA, then 20,000 INR is worth it. You can do certification later.

I'm not a DBA. However, this course looks very similar to Oracle's official certification course here You should be ready to get a Oracle ceritificate after taking this course
