In debitcard payment once the customer enter the card details and submit the payment details we are submitting the html form through browser to 3d secure payment server for authentication.

if the server is available it is fine and password page is displayed but how to handle if the server is down or returning errors

Solution 1: Using AJAX we can handle but our application and 3d secure payment server are on deferent domains we need to implement CORS (Cross origin resource sharing) ,our company will not allow

Solution 2:Intercepting the request while posting the form to 3d secure server throgh servlets so that we can handle the time out or error but for each card type they will have different 3d secure sever so we need to import the certificate to the server(we dont know the server url for each 3d secure sever) and if the 3d secure sever url is changed our payment will fail

Experts of this forum can you please suggest any solution will be more helpful

Your response will be more appreciated.
It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
