If I add
C:\bea;C:\bea\wlserver6.1\lib\weblogic.jar;
to my Classpath, when I run a non weblogic application I get the following error.
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no ocijdbc8 in java.library.path
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary(ClassLoader.java:1344)
at java.lang.Runtime.loadLibrary0(Runtime.java:744)
at java.lang.System.loadLibrary(System.java:815)
at oracle.jdbc.oci8.OCIDBAccess.logon(OCIDBAccess.java:228)
at oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleConnection.<init>(OracleConnection.java:246)
at oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver.getConnectionInstance(OracleDriver.java:365)
at oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver.connect(OracleDriver.java:260)
at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(DriverManager.java:512)
at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(DriverManager.java:172)
at roleOne.server.<init>(server.java:36)
at roleOne.server.main(server.java:195)
.This is a problem because I dont have ocijdbc8 I have ocijdbc9.
I have two question what is ocijdbc8 and why does weblogic require it.
And is there a workaround apart from removing weblogic from the classpath.
Thanks for any help.
Cheers TE

Tony,
I don't have a 6.1 install in front of me at the moment, but if I am remembering things right, I think 6.1 came with the oracle oci drivers either in weblogic.jar or referenced from its manifest Class-Path.
If you are not using any weblogic stuff in this code, then you should just take it out of your classpath. Otherwise, you could try moving it to the end of classpath....
