Dear Friends,
I am having more than 10 years experience in JEE development and prepared very well before the exam.
I mostly referred the book by Alan and Barbara guide jEE6 , for required details i googled forums and other books referred in the ranch.
Before taking the actual exam I used EPractize mocks for 1z0-807 and scored well 76/81/78/91/94 %
Eventhogh actual test is little more difficult than expected , I am confident after the exam also.
Now I received a score of 65% , showing integration, security , design patterns and exception handling are my weak areas.

Please let me know any retake promotion going on for this exam for second appearance ?
And please give suggestions how can I prepare better for the second time.

If you register the exam before year end, you can use the promo code "Java20" for discount discussed here

You may want to focus on your weak areas and practice questions by section.

Hi TSang,

Thank you for your advice.

I am seeing many people still preferring OCMJEA version 5 .
For 1Z0-864 passing score 57 % only required ,compared to 71% of 1z0-807.

A lot of material available for preparing OCMJEA version 5 preparation.
Please suggest If I am changing my stream to OCMJEA 5 , will it be worth ?, is there chance to stop this version of exam series soon?

Regards,
Husain

Indeed there are much more study materials for v5 of the exam. However, from the exam objectives, I personally don't see much deviation / new topics other than design patterns which are covered by Adam Bien's book Real World Java EE Patterns.

The v5 exam should be around for some time until Java EE 7 exams come along at least.

You ought to have a solid reason to switch to v5 stream and for the sake of passing isn't a valid reason.

After analysing the exam topics for 1z0-807 and 1Z0-864 I have decided to retake my exam on v6 stream , 1z0-807, only.
But for both versions , part 2 and part 3 the exams(1z0-865 ,10-860 assignent and essay) available only on version 5.
Does this require an additional study on the JEE 5 spec during later stages?
If my answer based on JEE6 does this affect my scoring.

Thanks & Regards,
Husain

No, You are allowed to use Java EE 6 APIs in your submission for parts 2 and 3. They mean "at least Java EE 5". It is the part 1 exam that is version specific.

Actually "at least J2EE 1.4 or higher".
