What to do when you create a post in the wrong forum?

The reason I did that was because the old question was added in a wrong FORUM and there was no way that I could delete it. So I had to create the new one and mark the old one as default. And now after you have merged the two it is looking messy. Can you please delete the duplicate from this post? I am not able to do that. It is not at all user friendly.

No, you didn't. You didn't say anything about “default”. You didn't say anything about wrong forum.

If you had contacted one of us mods and explained the problem we would have moved it happily.

There are good reasons why we restrict deletion; people used to change posts afterwards and the replies looked like nonsense. If you had told somebody about the mistake or posted “Sorry, wrong forum by mistake,” we would have deleted things to sort out the problem.

Also, the topic -- https://coderanch.com/t/657129/java/java/Clone-copy-constructor -- looks fine to me. There are topics that are an order of magnitude more messy, and they were originally posted that way...
