Regarding MDB's Tx....help pls?

Hi Group,
this is regarding MDB's transaction.
i read this two points in the book.

1) MDB's onMessage() method never executes with the context of an
existing transaction. so the container always create a new transaction.

2)In MDB, container managed transaction supports only two attributes:Required,NotSupport.


how does it works. if the tx attribute "required" assgined to MDB,it assigns the new tx in case not exists or it continues the existing tx. but it violates point 1. even it happens the same in case of "NotSupport".

pls clarify my doubts.

MDBs can execute in the context of a transaction. Your first point is incorrect. Where did you read this and are you sure that you didn't misread?

The both points i read in weblogic server bible6.1 by Joe Zuffolotto.

the first point i read in the page number 133. and the second point i read in the page number 575.
the second point is correct bcz i seen in sun spec. anyway i will mail to this book author.
