Hi all,

I am Partheban and I working as Java Developer for 2 years 11 months. I think its high time I take my OCJP examinations. I don't know why but I haven't considered it up to now but I feel this is the right time to take it. I am totally blank about these exams and I would like you people to refer me to links from where I could start, how I could proceed and other stuffs. Should I write OCPJP 6 and then move on to OCPJP 7 or should I write OCAJP 7 and then move onto OCPJP 7 and some other basic stuff like this. Its ok if you guys just post links where I could find answers for these. Everybody has to start somewhere, so I would like to start now. Please help me in what ever way you guys can.

Hi Partheban, you can check our ScjpFaq for all the information you need.

To answer your question briefly, you don't need to give OCPJP 6 before doing OCPJP 7. The current path is you do OCPJA 7 (Associate) and then OCPJP 7 (Professional). There are books available for these exams which you can use for your preparation. You can even do OCPJA 8 and OCPJP 8 as these are the latest exams. The objectives/topics of the exam you can find on Oracle's website...

Ankit Garg,

Is it a good practice to skip all other versions and directly go for OCPJA 8? This is my first Java exam. So I am a little confused about things?
