Hi all!

I've been lurking for a few hours and I really liked the site so I registered.
But, it seems as though I can't use my name b/c it's already in use, I looked through the naming policy and it showed that you prefer first/last name but the first name could be an initial.

I really don't want to share my first name(For various reasons), but if I use T Smith, it's taken, however T. Smith is fine, which feels... wrong.
I'd hate for the two of us to be mistaken.

What do you think I should do?
I really don't want to give my first name, and I don't want something like "John" or "Joe", got kinda disheartened that I couldn't use my typical handle/username.

Thanks ahead of time for replies!

In my opinion, since the other "T Smith" haven't posted in four years, I think that it is okay for now. Of course, if the other "T Smith" does comes back, and confusion occurs, we will need to revisit this.

In the meantime, BTW, welcome to the ranch!!

Henry

Thanks, Henry!

Maybe by then I'll gather the internet courage to use my first name. :-)

I have marked the other T Smith's profile so in the unlikely event of his posting again we shall be aware of the name conflict.
