Hi All,
I joined the CodeRanch today. I am a 10 years experienced java developer and am planning to achieve a java certification. Though i have been working for so many years in java projects i would want to achieve the certification so that it will boost my confidence and also make my java fundamentals knowledge more updated.
But I am not able to decide if I should go for OCA 8 or OCA7.

My current work doesnt need Java 8 although.

I also want to go for OCP exam once i pass OCA version of certification.
Please guide me which is more appealing if we consider the market use of above java versions ?

Thanks,
Dhanashree

Hi Dhanashree, welcome to CodeRanch.

I would say go for the latest certification if possible. That would be a good way of learning the new Java 8 features as well. There are now books available for the Java 8 certification so preparation shouldn't be an issue...
