I have been taking care of a SQL database for a customer that will accept Excel files using an import wizard. Imagine that! It's so easy.

However, I am making my first app at work (all by myself) and I chose NetBeans because of the tutorials that surround it. I am just realizing that this may have been a big mistake because the Apache Derby database that comes with NetBeans seems to think I need to enter things row by row. Is there an import wizard or something that will import an Excel spreadsheet into a Derby DB table? This ought to be a one minute thing not a two day, sixteen hour ordeal. I mean it is the 21st Century. Am I overlooking something?

I have scoured the internet only to find a dubious company that wants 95 bucks for a tool that will do this.

The tools that come with Derby allow file imports, but they are CSV files.
You could save your Excel file as a CSV I suppose.
