java web app which can work with both mobile and PC

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
Hi all,

I am to build java based web app and want it to be compatible with all devices like mobile, iOS, iPad and PC. But i know only to create apps either for PC or mobile but have no idea how can one site work for both.
Below are the possible solution which i can think of :

1. Making site web responsive - it will resolve view issue but not sure how it will handle other issues?
2. Creating API for application, and creating different initial classes for mobile devices and pc , then calling same from these 2 different classes.

Please let me know if it makes sense or please suggest better way to do it.

Thanks,
AS

This. Your other solution sounds way too complex. But I'm not sure what you mean by "other issues".

I suggest starting here.

@J. Kevin Robbins Thanks for comments, by other issues i meant "Will the java code continue to work , as it works on pc ?

You won't be running Java code on the mobiles or PCs.
You'll be running Javascript (and html/css) on the clients.
The Java will sit on the server.
Yeah. What he said. Totally. Wait. What? Sorry, I was looking at this tiny ad:
