Hey all,
I cant for the life of me figure out why my "selectedList" wont populate the right side list. I debugged it and there is values coming back from the bean. so I guess its something wrong with my screen code. Any insights?

Below is the code that I am running for it. The "aphisLst" comes back and fills in the left side just fine. Nothing ever on the right side though. What am I doing wrong?

screen code

bean code

Is thar RichFaces 3 or RichFaces 4? A lot of stuff related to pick lists went through major changes between the two versions.

Make sure that you have a Converter that can convert your list items to and from HTML-friendly-forms on the web side and re-construct unique but equivalent objects on the backing bean side. I'm afraid I don't like how they did that stuff - it's awkward, puts extra demands on the data transmission and potentially hackable, but it's what we're stuck with. RF4 isn't much better. In other words, much as it would seem like a good idea, you cannot use SelectItems to manage pick lists - at least unless you've got a suitable Converter.

Something else to feel good about. RF3 cannot support any version of Internet Explorer higher that IE8. Thanks to Microsoft JavaScript quirks, that means that IE9, 10, etc/ don't operate reliably unless you add a META tag to your page telling IE to downshift itself to IE8 mode. But Microsoft officially drops IE8 support this coming February, and there's no telling how much longer that particular hack will continue to work.
