Hi

I have recently been running my java application successfully with no error messages.

As of yesterday, I continue to get the above error

I am running a PC Windows 7

I have read about heap dumps and have run Java VirtualVM to profile my application but am really lost and confused.

Can somebody give me some simple instructions on how I might go about solving my dilemma

Thanks

Bob M

p.s. VirtualVM -> Overview states: -Xms32m

Can you explain what exactly your program does and why it needs so much memory?

When you run a Java application from the command line, you can use the -Xmx option to set the maximum amount of memory that the JVM is allowed to allocate. For example:

java -Xmx1024m com.mypackage.MyProgram

to let it allocate at most 1024 MB (1 GB) memory. (Note, that's -Xmx, not -Xms).

Hi Jesper

The program runs on Dukascopy's forex platform

It gets historical data, updates a Derby database, performs weka data mining, makes a prediction and places a trade if required every 6 hours

I have no concept of memory requirements

I do not run anything from the command line - but I am aware of -Xmx option

The profiler has -Xmx512m
