This week's book giveaways are in the Jython/Python and Object-Oriented programming forums. We're giving away four copies each of Machine Learning for Business: Using Amazon SageMaker and Jupyter and Object Design Style Guide and have the authors on-line! See this thread and this one for details.
recently I was asking some questions on How social networking sites get notifications with refreshing the page, then Roel replied to it and suggested me this forum. I want to ask why the coderanch don't work on such technology.
Like if someone replied to my question, i get notification.
there is no need to refresh the page to see the posts on OP's question.

tried, but didn't understand what exactly it is doing. "watch topic" coverts to "stop watching". I think this like "follow- unfollow " a topic ?
Yes, it's like following and unfollowing a topic. If you follow a topic, you'll be notified when a new post is made. And if you are following a topic and are not interested anymore in updates on this topic, you can simply unfollow the topic. That's why the "watch topic" button changes into "stop watching" once you have clicked the button.
I am following/watching this topic and I received this e-mail when you posted your previous message

You may use the following URL to read the messages. You will not get more notifications until you read the topic.

Hi, thanks for noticing, however i feel this is not a good place for me to reply on the same since its a separate discussion than your actual post. Email me or pm me on coderanch itself and I would give you the details.
