Hello,
I already read the OCA Java SE 7 Programmer I Study Guide ( Kathy Sierra ), but i decide now to pass the OCA 8 ! So, when i see this OCA7 vs OCP8 , i can't understand what i must read to pass the OCA8 if i'm already pass many OCA7 practise exam with a good score ???

Please if any one had the same experience please, let me know

Thank you

In the first table you'll see the exam objectives of OCA8. In the last column of that table you'll see the corresponding OCA7 exam objective. If you see "new topic", this exam objective is a new topic and was not yet on the OCA7 exam. So if you have studied for OCA7, you'll need to do additional studying of these new topics. Either you can buy an OCA8 study guide (see this post for an up-to-date overview) and/or use some online resources (e.g. the free Oracle Java tutorials). If you buy an OCA8 study guide, you can proceed quickly through the topics you are already familiar with, study when you encounter new concepts (topics) and take the OCA8-specific practice questions and mock exams.

Hope it helps!
Kind regards,
Roel

Quite honestly, if you are passing the OCA 7 mock exams from K&B with a good score, you don't really need a second OCA study guide. The new topics are minimal and you could learn them online for free.

I recommend saving your money for a OCP 8 study guide. (Disclosure: Mine is the only one on the market right now.) That's a much harder exam and there's la lot of new topics. The nice thing about already owning K&B 7 is that you have double coverage for the topics that do overlap.
