Hi,

I submitted my assignment and took the essay some weeks ago and wanted to check the current state of the exam online. Now that pearsonvue is Oracle's partner a lot of questions from the FAQ are (probably) obsolete and I can't access the link http://www.certmanager.net/sun_assignment/ anymore (www.certmanager.net times out). I checked my pearsonvue profile but it only says "taken" for both the assignment and essay.

Will my pearsonvue profile reflect it when I passed or failed the exam? Will I even get a notification if I fail the exam? Could anybody who recently took the exam tell me what is the best way to check the approval state? ;-)

The ScjdFaq could indeed use an update. But the popularity of this certification has decreased significantly since the mandatory course requirement is added. So the ROI of updating the FAQ would probably be very low. And because there is so very little feedback of other ranchers (and you can't take a certification once you have passed) it's very hard to gather the necessary information for an update. It's a wiki page so if you are interested to update some information in the FAQ, feel free to do so. Since you have completed the assignment and have taken the essay exam very recently, your knowledge about this certification will be more up-to-date than mine.

Did you already have a look at CertView? When you take another certification exam (like OCAJP or OCPJP) you must check this application to see if you have passed (or failed) the exam. That's why I guess this application will reflect first if you passed (or failed). And another alternative is to contact the Oracle Certification Program (OCP) team using the Support Form and simply ask

Hey Roel,

Thanks again for your prompt response. No I hadn't looked at CertView but I just did and it says the same as pearsonvue so I guess this is indeed the best way to check it. The funny thing is, the description there is flawed as well. The status is indicated as "taken" but when I click on view Score Report it says "During this time your exam status will remain as pending. Once graded your status will change to passed or failed, and you will receive an email with your results.". So 'taken' is probably the new 'pending'.

Also my SCJP is not displayed in my certification history there even though I had pearsonvue merge my Oracle IDs before and I shouldn't even be allowed to take the SCJD if I didn't have SCJP in my history but that's really a case for the official Oracle support rather than this forum.

I'll make some suggestions here what to update in the FAQ once I receive my score. :-)

CertView is the portal for all Oracle certification related activity. So your SCJP exam should be listed there. And it doesn't matter if it was still Sun when you took your certification exam. When I check my certification history, all certifications (from my signature) are listed. So while you are waiting for the result of the OCMJD, I would definitely contact the OCP team using the Support Form about this issue. Most of the times the OCP team responds within 2-3 business days.

That would be awesome!
