Unable to Run JSTL in tomcat 5.0  RSS feed

I am trying to run jstl in tomcat 5.0,but getting following error :

1.The dtd in my web.xml looks like as follows :

2.I have used jakarta-taglibs-standard-1.1.0(i.e jstl.jar and standard.jar) and put them in C:\tomcat5.0\common\lib folder.

This is what I have done, can any one please tell me where I am worng.

If you are using maven, use following dependencies.

And finally, use any type of library on jsp, for example if you want to use JSTL core then use following,


Note -- Also try to use tomcat 7 with Servlet 3.0-compliant server.



If still facing issue, let me know complete configuration including maven, struts version, servlet api version etc.

I am not using maven I am simply running it on tomcat 5.0

Doing a search for the error you are receiving, it looks like it occurs when you are using one version of JSTL but you use the taglib of a different version see here.
To Youdhveer's point, JSTL also depends on a minimum level of Servlet API support, so that makes it Tomcat version dependent.
