Hi,

I have installed yourkit on linux machine for checking performance of application running on tomcat server. Requirement is i want to capture snapshots without using yourkit profiler UI. Can we do this? How? I cant install profiler yourkit UI due to permissions issue in my organisation.

Thanks

I presume you have told your security people why you need YourKit and asked for it to be installed.

YourKit just uses the standard HPROF format for heap dumps, so you can use the many other ways to trigger it.... including out of memory condition or via signal.

I found solution for this and wanted to share. there is an API yjp-controller-api-redist.jar which can be used and commands can be as below,

java -jar yjp-controller-api-redist.jar localhost <agent_port> capture-performance-snapshot

these can capture snapshots. Thanks for replies.
