Getting the below error when connecting to database from tomcat(jsp), this error is coming only when the jsp get hosted in server, where as from IDE its working fine.

Cannot create PoolableConnectionFactory (The driver could not establish a secure connection to SQL Server by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption. Error: "SQL Server did not return a response. The connection has been closed.".)

TIA.

Are you using direct JDBC or through a connection pool in the app server?

Are you connecting the SQL Server in Windows Authentication mode or SQL Server mode (user/password)?

Can other apps able to connect to SQL Server?

How does IDE and server connect differently?

Below links may help

Connecting through Connection pool. Connecting with SQL server mode. Login credentials are correct. When executing the same jsp from IDE its working fine. Issue is when i try to access it from server after deploying it there.

I had issues with Tomcat as well. On my machine, in the IDE, everything was fine but after I uploaded my application to our cloud service I discovered that their Tomcat server was overwriting my xml files. This messed up my security realms and I had database connectivity issues as well.

You might want to double check that your application's xml files are still intact after uploading them to your host.
