For those who don't know much about Examlab, well, it was a popular and a free OCPJP exam simulator. When I was making it in 2008, I wanted to make its questions really tricky in an attempt to make it a learning tool than a testing tool.

During the past 8 years, I have improved it several times. And having over 250,000 users, with a lot of success stories, I believe it has gained some good reputation! I think what made Examlab different is the nature of its questions, which are designed to motivate users to learn-from-mistakes. I even wrote an article about that just so I can point people to it when they worry about their performance.

Talking about learning, I received what it feels like a zillion of questions asking me to explain some tricky parts of Java. This was so embarrassing because I had no proper medium to comfortably explain stuff - all I could do was pointing them to some online articles.

Now, after examining these questions for more than a couple of years, I realized that a lot of people have much trouble with threads, generics, garbage collection, enums, exceptions, and some twisty bits of OOP. Then I wanted to have something on Examlab, where I could easily explain these stuff to people.

And here's the result: OCPJP Online Training Course

As you can see in the description of the course, it is NOT a complete exam training course. The course expects you to know the basics of Java programming, and it takes you through the hardest parts in about 10 days. It even has a little quiz which you can use to assess yourself on whether you know Java enough to join the course

People who join this course get access to a lot of helpful features; including

  • 6 Full-length practice exams
  • Forever full access to course content
  • Forever full access to the ScorePredictor
  • 30-days premium tutoring support!
  • 100% money-back guarantee

  • Please ask in this thread if you have any questions. Or email info/at/examlab/dot/org

I want to take OCAJP exam. Is this course will be helpful for me? Or you have another course for OCAJP?

At the top of the page, it says SCJP/OCPJP 1.6 certification Practice Exams and Training. Does the training course only focus on OCPJP 1.6 exam objectives? Or will it also (in the near future) cover specific exam objectives of Java 7 (JDBC, NIO.2,...) and/or Java 8 (lambdas, streams,...).

No, this course is specific for the OCPJP certification exam, so it won't be useful for you. And ExamLab only provides practice exams (and training) for the OCPJP certification exams, not for OCAJP.

Hi, is the course specifically for Java 8? If so, I'd like to join, please, as I am preparing for the upgrade exam. Thank you.

Roel is right! The course is NOT designed to target the OCPJP 1.8. Some of the videos in the videos section may help though, but that shouldn't be used as the primary way to prepare for a Java 8 exam.

Congratulations! Don't forget to add your name to the OcajpWallOfFame. And maybe you can create a topic in the Certification Results forum as well and share your experiences about preparing for and taking the exam.

    Kind regards,
    Roel

    Free offer!

At this stage, I need help from awesome people to test around and give me some private and personal feedback! If you are reading this on Coderanch, reply to this thread saying something like "please let me join the course", and I'll take in the first 3 users doing that for free (might take around 24 hours to process). Please note that your coderanch account's email should be valid and reachable. I'll edit the subject and remove this paragraph as soon as we get three users in.

I know you have reach first 3 but since you have not removed this paragraph, I am trying my luck :-). If you still have spot, please take me in as well.

You have to hope there are still 2 free spots, because Jakub Olszak is 4th and you are 5th

    These are great news.
I'm currently studying for 1Z0-804 exam using both Mala Gupta and K&B books.
Is the upgrade from Free Account to Course & Exams account already buyable or Course features are still in testing phases?
I will definitely jump in cause I'm really finding this exam though on most of the topics covered in the course you are offering.
