Hey all,

Quick question. I'm really liking Java and I'm thinking about dedicating a lot of time to learning more about this OOP. Do you think Java will provide a stable career for the future?

That's the million dollar question, isn't it? Given the history of Java, I would say it's a safe bet.
There are sites that plot the history of hiring requests per language, probably using data from Dice.com or Monster.com.

Welcome to the Ranch

At this stage you should be thinking about what interests you. It is quite possible that in twenty years Java® will vanish mysteriously. But then, the skills of OO programming will be transferable to a different language. It is the concepts of programming that are difficult to learn. Once you learn them, learning a new language is relatively easy.
